About the role

We have a vacancy for an Intelligent Systems Engineer. The position is ideal for someone wishing to have broad design and development remit in satisfying  customer needs through advanced digital technologies.

Loxham products are highly integrated multi axis ultra precision machines and motion systems. Our products are supplied with intelligent systems developed in-house, these often employ optical imaging, position sensors and laser based technologies.

Typically you will be work in a small team, sometimes alone and often with direct contact with high technology customers.

Activities will include the design and optimisation of intelligent systems capable of high accuracy and dynamic response achieved through a range of digital technologies.

About you

To join us you will be a highly enthusiastic engineer wanting to innovate and create performance leading solutions to meet customer needs and timescales. This role is suitable for an early stage career applicant having an appropriate degree / HNC qualification with some evidence to demonstrate ability to apply knowledge. More experienced applicants will also be considered.

You will be familiar with digital systems, their interfacing and processing environments. You will see yourself as a "self learner" and "being comfortable" stepping outside your own field of expertise.

We are looking for candidates seeking to develop themselves both technically and with a business delivery mentality.  We imagine you will have knowledge and interest in one or more of the following:

electrical design, digital communications, image processing, measurement technologies, programming

Ideally, you will have experience in programming in either C, Matlab or Python. Familiarity with any CAD, CAM, FEA, CNC systems would be beneficial.

We imagine you will consider yourself as having "can do" attitude, as being innovative with good communication and positive working behaviours.
